Get involved

Whether you’re a researcher, university student, or a passionate marine ecology enthusiast, MARES Center offers diverse opportunities for involvement in our initiatives.

University Internships

MARES Center welcomes university interns to join us in Mahahual, actively participating in and managing specific projects aligned with our programs. This opportunity provides hands-on experience, skill development, and enhances employment prospects post-studies. Internships, typically lasting 3 to 6 months, should be related to our programs, grounded in scientific methodology and objectives. We encourage universities to contact us and send bachelor and master students, with interns and their projects supervised by our team.

Volunteers

MARES Center accepts volunteers year-round, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute skills to environmental initiatives, connect with the community, and make a positive impact. Volunteers undergo brief training introductions and can participate in various projects concurrently. The focus is on practical experience and environmental awareness projects. No prior experience is required, and volunteers will be supervised by the MARES Center team. Apply now to volunteer and be part of our Research Center's impactful projects.

Donations

Support our mission by making a donation to MARES Center. Your contributions help us fund critical research, conservation efforts, and educational programs aimed at protecting our marine ecosystems. Donations can be made online, and all amounts are greatly appreciated. Together, we can make a difference in preserving our oceans for future generations.

Organizations and Businesses

If you're an organization keen on collaborating with us, feel free to contact us. You can send a proposal, outlining objectives, requirements, and a budget. Our team collaborates on various projects with local and international organizations globally, and we're actively engaged in local and regional initiatives.

Eco Diving Courses

MARES Center, in collaboration with TAKATA Dive Center, offers various eco courses designed to educate and involve participants in marine conservation. These courses provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experiences through snorkeling and diving activities.
